Illuvium
Web UX/UI
2024
Project Overview
With the release of Illuvium's Open Beta, the game introduced a large-scale AirDrop Rewards campaign, giving away 200,000 ILV (approximately $7M USD) tied to daily and weekly missions across all games. To help players track their progress, I was tasked with designing a comprehensive missions dashboard. Additionally, as Illuvium expanded, we identified the need to improve player profiles, making them more social, and splitting the inventory into a dedicated section for better in-game item management.
My Work
Missions Dashboard: Designed a system from the ground up, with minimal initial requirements from the game design team. This included creating a dashboard to track daily, weekly, and milestone missions, visualizing reward points, and implementing multipliers. I also incorporated onboarding elements to guide new users through the system.
Profile Revamp: Reimagined the player profile to create a more social experience. This involved splitting the inventory into a separate section to improve item management and adding social features such as missions completed, milestones, social media links, and the Illuvium Referral Code (Ally Code). The goal was to empower users to interact more deeply with their achievements and the community.
Outcome
The missions dashboard was successfully released and well-received by players, providing an intuitive way to track and engage with the AirDrop Rewards campaign.
The profile revamp is currently in development and aims to offer a more robust, social player experience within the Illuvium ecosystem.
Learnings
This project taught me how to build a feature with minimal initial input, requiring me to define the user experience and system interactions independently. Additionally, it reinforced the importance of designing for both utility and engagement, balancing the need for clear information with the desire for a fun, social user experience.
